Journalists increasingly find and select their sources online. What does this mean for the selection and verification of those sources? An observation study was conducted among 48 young journalists by including their research and screen activities and a content analysis of each action. It was shown that research strategies of journalists are largely determined by what Google offers. Verification of online resources is not explicit. However, hybrid methods of verification are used, such as checking the background of a website or cross-checking sources.
